The term Hobo Nickel describes any small-denomination coin (though, normally soft nickels) that people carve to create miniature reliefs all sorts of things. It started sometimes in the 18th century but continues to this day. There is even an entire society dedicated to the art of nickel carving.

This all sounds stimulating, I know, but have a little faith. As with all types of art, something that seems simple in explanation is made beautiful and complicated in the hands of right artists. Check out a few of these Skull Nickels, a view of just what carvers do with these Hobo Nickels.

Every year, millions of women worldwide die from breast cancer. And despite the fact that the disease itself – is not fatal if to reveal its early stages. That’s because worldwide, the campaign urging women annually examined by doctors.
Three posters created by creative agency DDB, astonishingly skillful artistic fulfillment. They depict women’s breasts, painted a very talented artist named Andy Yang Soo Kit. He created the bodies of models, some interesting patterns in which women’s breasts have become part of the same female face, hair, buttocks.

These pictures the artist apparently wanted to show that women’s breasts – very important as an aesthetic and practical sides of the female body. Therefore, we must at least once a year to be screened at mammologist. Then there will be more likely to preserve it, in the case of breast cancer.

The idea that it is a cultural phenomenon, susceptible to argument through the creative process, fascinates her.

Organic patterns, forms and materials have an instinctive draw; work may look determinedly abstract to the naked eye, but by using a spiral or circle, or a familiar material, the viewer’s gaze is lured inward, as if into a ‘field of attraction’, only to be repulsed or even menaced by the associations that unfold once ‘inside’. At the same time the scale and delicacy of the work reinforce the potential for awe and beauty in the unconventional.

Doug Landis wasn’t an artist until a high school wrestling accident left him quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down. Concerned that Doug was spending too much time in front of the TV, his brother challenged him to draw and placed a pencil in Doug’s mouth. Skate decks eventually see its life shortened by snapping, cracking and/or wearing out. Purchasing new decks is a never ending cycle and this was evident by the tower of old decks that were reaching to the ceiling of my room. We can’t throw away these decks because they hold sentimental meanings to us. I looked at these unusable decks every day and thought there must be something I can make with these. I decided to make some accessories with the old decks and this was the birth of Harvest. The works of Harvest are through the perspectives of a skater and as an artist.

The Dutch design Studio Tjep presented a collection of jewelry in the Gallery Ra (Gallery Ra) in Amsterdam. The collection is called Clockwork Love – this is six different projects, that involve human emotions.

Clockwork Love is different “heart whims” through the use of free characters, addressing topics such as transience, passion, insecurity and desire.

Yuken Teruya is a Japanese artist who cuts trees out of paper bays and cardboard toilet paper rolls. The most fantastic thing is that in each roll, the shape of a tree is created with out adding or removing anything, just by cutting out and folding the paper from the roll itself. Except toilet roll, the Japanese artist has also used shopping bags and old pizza boxes in his collection of work that uses recycled materials to defy the defined roles of these objects.

Junior Fritz Jacquet is an artist that loves working with paper and has created a series of small masks by bending and folding empty toilet paper rolls. The masks are sculpted by hand, then coated with shellac and different pigments. Each mask expresses a kind of emotion of people. Isn’t it amazing to see all kinds of expressions on the toilet paper roll that should have been thrown into bin?

Anastassia Elias, a French artist, is a master of collage. She created a winter scene with a child building a snowman, a scene with a woman taking clothes down from a washing line, a school classroom scene, a busy market scene and a model of a grandmother sitting in a living room with a cat through carving tiny scenes out of the inside of each brown paper roll while leaving the outside intact.
